White Samsung Galaxy S Plus Now Available in the UK

The slightly improved version of the popular Galaxy S is now available for purchase in the UK. Samsung Galaxy S Plus has hit shelves at Virgin Mobile and can be grabbed for free on select plans.

Moreover, this is the white version of the Galaxy S Plus, which was initially launched in Russia as Samsung Galaxy S 2011 Edition.

Customers who want to get this Gingerbread handset can do so for free on a £15.99 monthly contract for 24 months. However, this will only net them 75 minutes, 250 texts and 250MB of mobile data.

Those who want to switch to this carrier just for this smartphone are advised to ask their current provider for their PAC code in order to be able to keep their phone number. The PAC code must be sent to Virgin Mobile who will transfer the phone number as fast as possible.

Samsung Galaxy S Plus is a step forward from Galaxy S and is right behind the Galaxy S II. The phone is equipped with a single-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, which is complemented by an Adreno 205 graphics processing unit.

It sports a brilliant 4.0-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 16 million colors, which features Corning Gorilla Glass coating that protects it against scratches and scrapes.

On the inside, the Galaxy S Plus packs 8GB of internal memory, 512MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

There’s also a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper with autofocus, and HD (720p) video recording, as well as a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls. Other highlights of the phone include HSDPA and Wi-Fi support, Bluetooth, built-in GPS receiver and TV-out port.

The phone embeds a 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery that should provide up to 480 hours of standby time or up to 8 hours of talk time.
