Yesterday, mobile phone maker Nokia has unveiled to the world its first handsets running under Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system, and it seems that at least one of these phones might be set to arrive in the United States in the near future, namely Nokia Lumia 710.
The handset has just been spotted on Nokia USA's website, which clearly suggests that the Finnish giant is considering the US launch of this device. The new mobile phone arrives on shelves with features similar to those packed in the other Windows Phone from Nokia, the Lumia 800, but should feature a much lower price tag.
The new device will arrive on shelves in Black and White, and will offer a range of back cover plates that are interchangeable, for a greater experience.
The Nokia Lumia 710 arrives with a 3.7-inch screen that can deliver an 800 x 480-pixel resolution, along with a 1.4GHz application processor inside, and with a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with LED flash and support for HD video recording.
The new device also comes to the market with 512MB of RAM, 3G up to HSDPA, WiFi and Bluetooth, along with 8GB of user storage memory.
Not to mention that it can deliver a great browsing experience courtesy of Internet Explorer 9, which is compatible with various modern HTML5 web apps.
It also provides users with fast access to Facebook, Twitter and Linked-In, as well as with Nokia Drive for free turn-by-turn navigation, and Nokia Music featuring MixRadio for a great listening experience while on the go.
The smartphone seems like a good option for those who would like to purchase a capable device at an affordable price, and shows that Nokia can deliver the handsets it promised not too long ago.
“Since Nokia's major strategic shift only eight months ago, the company has found a new energy,” Pete Cunningham, principal analyst, Canalys, states.
“It has provided substantial improvements to Symbian, managed to differentiate on Windows Phone and it continues to build on its strong portfolio in mobile phones. Nokia is delivering on its pledges, and is clearly demonstrating its path to future success.”
